The Whirlpool Galaxy and it's partner galaxy are 23 million light years away and interacting with one another through intense gravitational pull. The interactions have been thoroughly studied with a number of different imaging techniques, but are a favorite of amateur astronomers in particular. This photo was taken in Berryville, Arkansas on May 21st, 2023.
