The Pleiades

The Pleiades is one of the few items that I routinely photograph that is visible to the naked eye. The constellation is the nearest Messier object to earth at 444 light years, and was crucial to many ancient cultures for wayfinding and religious beliefs. This photograph was taken in Berryville, Arkansas on September 10th, 2023.
