The Pillars of Creation is the name given to the pillars of stellar dust at the center of the Eagle Nebula. Discovered in 1920, the pillars were made famous by the Hubble Space Telescope in a 1995 image that became iconic. They earned the name due to the new star formation occurring at their heart. This photo was taken in Elkhart, Indiana on June 5th, 2024.
