Messier 17 goes by two names, both the Swan Nebula and Omega Nebula. At a distance of 5000-6000 light years away, many of the stars forming in this nebula are hidden within the cloud of dust and not readily visible to imaging. This photo was taken in Ballwin, Missouri on June 9th, 2024.
